I am re-posting this for the Showoff showcase over at The Boy and Me
=======================================================================================
I know I'm not collecting an award or anything, but I was thinking today about the people in my life that I would really like to be able to thank for how good they have been to me. So as I blog I figured this would be a good place to get it out of my system.
Firstly I would like to thank my driving instructor who helped me pass my driving test first time. I would particularly like to thank him for the day that I was having such a bad time at home that I started the lesson in tears and barely able to function. He was lovely and patient and got me through that day. I was very sad when I passed my test and wouldn't see him anymore.
Secondly I would like to thank my English teacher from secondary school for coming up to me one day in the school library and letting me know her door was always open if I needed to talk. I never did but it reassured me to know I could. I guess she read some of my short stories and put two and two together.
Thirdly I would like to thank Steve for teaching me how to use an airport the first time I ever flew. He drove me to the airport and took me to the check-in. It stood me in good stead for the 100's of flights I took over the next few years.
And then I would like to thank a couple of my past managers, particularly Dr N and Mr L. It amazes me how much faith they have shown in me. Their faith and support has allowed me to be successful in my career.
Who would you thank in your awards speech?
